ACCOMMODATION: Quamby Homestead offers private guest rooms set separately in the botanic gardens. Guests can enjoy breakfast served in the homestead dining room or stay in a self-contained cottage. All recently extensively renovated, there is plenty of room for everyone including children. For a short visit, stay in one of the five Mews Rooms with Queen or twin single beds. Or for a longer break the original School House and the converted Carriage House offer the space to relax and unwind. The rooms, all located within the garden at ground level, have different outlooks - garden, farmland or the dams and farmland. Wireless internet is available in some rooms. HOMESTEAD: An historic home with a strong local heritage built in circa 1888. Originally set in 26,000 acres, the Homestead still today displays the grandeur and scale of the first settler era. Guests can enjoy the grand Homestead Dining Room for breakfast or the Victorian Guest Lounge and Bar for drinks. GARDENS: The homestead is set on a rural property of 70 acres and is surrounded by a 3 acre historic botanical garden designed by William Guilfoyle, former Director of the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. Quamby's superb gardens are a main feature of the property. Soak up the ambience, relax and enjoy, or spot kangaroo, echidna, possums, and study the historic plantings in a relaxed, private atmosphere. Quamby is an ideal accommodation break in your travels, as it is situated between the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians, en-route Melbourne to Adelaide and just 20 minutes' drive from Warrnambool and 25mins from Port Fairy.
